The Best of the Best: A Virtual Artist Book

Introduction

The purpose of life is something philosophers have pondered for thousands of years. Each of us has a unique purpose and goal in our subconscious which motivate us us to accomplish certain goals and connect with certain people. Like showing champion animals, luck sometimes has nothing to do with outcome. Sometimes it has everything to do with being chosen “The Best."

Working on this project, I noticed certain fair animal exhibitors and owners share certain personality traits. For example, I noticed "llama people” were different than “chicken people.” Those that raised turkeys tended to be different than those showed horses. Of course, I am generalizing, however I find humor in seeing how "certain dogs look like their owners.” This isn’t an insult in any way, but an observation in the way we personify animal behavior.

Animals can serve as metaphors in biblical stories, sports mascots, and zodiac signs. They serve as companions with a utilitarian purpose. These are “working animals.”

The companionship and humor these animals offer help offset the demands they place on time, energy, and finances. They help make life enjoyable. And force us to find humor and beauty in the simple things. I value these components, especially as a visual artist creating “virtual” work during COVID-19.

A Virtual Champion Animal Pairing Scenario

If I were to pair you with two adopted virtual animals for the day, I would want to match you with animals you’d get along well with. Of course, they would be two supreme champion breeds of the same species.

To help select your virtual animal pair you'll adopt for the day, I’d like to ask you a few questions first.
